Hero Siege Ore Mining Guide

Mining is one of Hero Siege's most underrated income streams. It's not flashy, but the ore you pull out of the ground crafts gear at the Blacksmith and levels jewelcrafting — and the raw materials themselves sell surprisingly well because most players ignore them. This Hero Siege ore mining guide is current for Season 9 "Incarnation" and covers exactly how mining works, every ore type, the mining level and difficulty each one needs, and what they craft.

Key takeaways

  • Mining nodes spawn randomly on any map — press F to start the timing minigame, F again in the green zone to break the vein.
  • Each ore tier unlocks at a higher mining level and appears on higher difficulties.
  • Copper → relics, iron → legendaries, gold → mythics; higher ores feed higher-tier crafting and jewelcrafting.
  • It's slow but reliable — the best low-risk way to build starting capital early in a season.

How mining works

Mining spots appear at random on any zone — maps typically contain a small number of rock locations, each with one or more veins. When you find one, walk up to it and press F to begin a short timing minigame: press F again when the moving marker lands inside the green area to successfully break the vein. A single vein drops multiple ore (roughly 1–4 per successful hit), and every successful mine raises your mining level, which you can track in the talent/skill panel.

Higher mining levels don't just unlock better ore — they're also required to see and mine the higher tiers at all, so leveling mining is a prerequisite for the profitable materials.

Every ore type, level and difficulty

According to the official Hero Siege Wiki, ores unlock progressively by mining level, and which ores appear depends on the difficulty you're playing. The table below summarizes the tiers:

OreMining levelFound on difficultyPrimary use
CopperFrom level 0Normal+Crafts random relics (~25 copper each)
Iron~125Nightmare+Crafts random legendaries (scales to your level)
Gold~225Hell+Crafts random mythics (scales to your level)
Ruby~500Nightmare / HellHigher-tier crafting (Satanic-tier gear)
Jade~750Nightmare / HellHigher-tier crafting & jewelcrafting
Tarethium~1000HellTop-tier crafting & jewelcrafting

Exact thresholds and difficulty distribution have shifted between seasons — treat these as a guide and confirm the current values in-game.

What each ore crafts

Ore is used at the Blacksmith to craft gear and relics, and to level jewelcrafting (below). Traditionally the tiers have worked like this:

  • Copper ore — the backbone of early relic crafting; low-tier ore that keeps you in relics and materials while you level.
  • Iron ore — crafts higher-tier gear that scales as you climb difficulty.
  • Gold ore — feeds stronger crafts again, a meaningful power step over iron.
  • Ruby, jade and tarethium — the top tiers, used for the highest crafting recipes and prospected into jewelcrafting materials.

Because the Incarnation reboot rebalanced crafting — Season 9, for example, added a Tarot Card recipe for a Blacksmith's Mallet along with runeword and item-crafting adjustments — always confirm the current Blacksmith recipes in-game before committing a stockpile.

Jewelcrafting: prospecting your ore

Jewelcrafting is levelled by prospecting ore — you gain one jewelcrafting level per ore you prospect. In return it lets you craft jewels that grant specific stat boosts, such as increased Energy, Strength or Resistances. Since strong jewels and high-level gems are some of the most valuable items on the market, funneling spare ore into jewelcrafting can be more profitable than selling it raw — check the current recipes before you commit your stockpile.

How to level mining efficiently

  • Mine everything early. At low levels, copper is plentiful on Normal and each hit is a level, so clear every node you pass.
  • Push difficulty as you climb. The higher ores only appear on Nightmare and Hell, so progressing your character unlocks better materials.
  • Farm resource-dense zones. Areas known for nodes (mine-themed maps and later acts) give you more veins per lap.
  • Combine with a farming run. Mining on top of a normal gold farming loop means you're collecting ore and kills at the same time.

Automating the boring part

Mining is the definition of repetitive — walk, node, minigame, repeat. That's why it's a common target for automation, and why MUSA's bot includes ore mining: it walks toward visible ores and mines them for you. If you're weighing that up, read our honest guide on whether auto-farming in Hero Siege is safe first, because the game's rules treat online and offline play very differently.

Let the bot mine for you

MUSA's Hero Siege bot walks toward visible ores and mines them automatically — alongside killing enemies, picking up loot and selling it for gold.
