Hero Siege Abyssal Chest and Eternity Codex guide
Pull more levers for better loot, and turn any zone satanic with a codex. How both Season 10 systems work and when to use them.
Abyssal Chests and Eternity Codexes are two of the main loot systems in Hero Siege Season 10. An Abyssal Chest comes with up to five levers, and every lever you pull makes the guarding fight harder and the reward better. A codex turns a zone satanic, with tougher monsters and better drops, and now lasts a set number of clears instead of a set time.
The short version
- Abyssal Chests spawn on 22 percent of zones on Nightmare, 28 on Hell and 34 on Inferno, and show on the minimap.
- Each lever releases an elite pack and raises the final reward. One lever is a quick chest, five is the full reward.
- Eternity Codexes now run on stacks: one stack per zone clear.
- Codex runewords like Codex of Relic Feast add a specific bonus to the zone.
How Abyssal Chests work
- Find the chest on the minimap. It sits with up to five levers.
- Pull levers. Each one releases an elite pack of high rarity monsters.
- After at least one lever, interact with the chest. A final encounter spawns, scaled to how many levers you pulled.
- Clear it and the chest opens.
Spawn chances are from patch 7.0.3, and Abyssal Chest magic find was raised in 7.0.2. If the chest will not open, a known loot filter issue may be blocking it: turn the filter off, open the chest and turn it back on. Details from Metaroad's guide.
How many levers to pull comes down to your build. If the five lever fight is comfortable, always pull all five. If not, one or two levers still give a bonus chest for little risk.
How Eternity Codexes work
A codex makes a zone satanic: harder, with better drops and random debuffs. In Season 10 codexes use stacks instead of a timer, each stack being one clear of the zone, and using a new codex overwrites the active one. The codex's own rolls were reduced: magic find dropped to 12 to 20 percent, and extra Angelic and high tier material rolls dropped to 1.
- Codexes drop from monsters, and five Codex Pages merge into one.
- Infernal Codexes are rarer. Five Infernal Codex Pages merge into one, or you can sacrifice five Eternity Codexes.
- The Universal Codex Ether node raises codex drops, and Reaper's Toll in the Shadow Realm branch turns Dimensional Shards into pages.

Chests, codexes and botting
MUSA's Hero Siege bot fights with the skills you assign, mines ore, picks up what passes your loot filter, stashes a full bag and resets the map. Panic Art bans for automation online, so read our guide to cheats, trainers and bots before you decide.
