Hero Siege cheats, trainers and bots: what gets you banned

Cheat Engine, trainers and farming bots are three different things with three different risks. Here is what Panic Art bans for, and what is fine offline.

A bot plays the game the normal way, so everything you see here is a real fight the character has to win.

People search for "Hero Siege cheats" and find three very different kinds of tool mixed together: memory editors like Cheat Engine, packaged trainers, and farming bots. They work in different ways, and the risk to your account is not the same for each. We sell a bot, so we have an obvious interest here. We will still tell you what the rules say.

The short version

  • Using any third-party tool that changes gameplay online is against the Hero Siege EULA and can get your account banned.
  • Panic Art has said its system flags Cheat Engine value changes and watches the top of the ladder closely. Memory editing online is the fastest way to a permanent ban.
  • Cheating in offline single player is a different matter, and the developers have said it is allowed.
  • A bot breaks the same rule, but it does not edit your gold or stats. It plays the game the normal way, which is why the risk is lower, but it is never zero.

Three different tools

Cheat Engine and memory editing

Cheat Engine is a free program that finds values in a running game's memory and changes them. Gold, stat points, health, item counts. In Hero Siege that means giving yourself things the server never saw you earn. It is the easiest cheat to try and the easiest to catch, because the numbers stop adding up.

Trainers

A trainer is the same idea in a friendlier package. Sites like CheatHappens and PLITCH sell trainers with a menu of toggles such as infinite health or extra gold. Under the hood they are still editing memory, so online they carry the same risk as Cheat Engine. Free trainers from forums and file sites add a second risk: some of them carry malware.

Farming bots

A bot does not change any numbers. It plays the character for you: moves, attacks with your skills, picks up loot, repeats. Everything it gets, it gets by killing monsters the normal way. That makes it a different kind of tool, though it still breaks the rule against third-party automation.

What Panic Art actually bans for

The Hero Siege EULA forbids using third-party tools that modify gameplay, and Panic Art has been direct about enforcing it. In its Steam post "Please don't cheat", the studio said its system flags Cheat Engine changes as soon as values change, that players at the top of the ladder are checked continuously, and that cheaters get permanently banned quickly.

Hero Siege used to ship with EasyAntiCheat and later removed it. That does not mean online cheating became safe. Detection moved to the studio's own checks, and bans kept coming.

If you think you were banned by mistake, the studio reviews appeals sent to the address in that same Steam post.

Offline single player is different

Offline characters do not touch the ladder, the trade market or anyone else's game, and the developers have said that cheating in offline single player is allowed. If you want to try a silly build with maxed stats or test a skill before you spend real farming time on it, offline is where to do it. Just keep in mind that offline characters stay offline.

How the risk compares

ToolWhat it doesOnline risk
Cheat EngineEdits values in memoryVery high. Flagged as soon as values change.
Paid trainerEdits values in memory through a menuVery high, same as Cheat Engine.
Free trainer or "hack"Same, from an unknown sourceVery high, plus a real chance of malware.
Farming botPlays the character the normal wayLower, but still against the EULA and never zero.
Offline cheatingAnything, on an offline characterAllowed, according to the developers.

If you do use a bot

We would rather you make the call knowing the facts. This is the advice we give anyone who asks.

  • Assume the account could be banned. Do not bot on an account you cannot afford to lose.
  • Keep sessions to lengths a person could believably play. A character that farms for 20 hours a day for a week looks like what it is.
  • Stay away from the top of the ladder. That is where Panic Art says it looks hardest.
  • Never combine a bot with memory editing. It turns a low risk into a very high one.

MUSA runs as its own program next to the game, varies its timing and movement the way a person does, and picks up only what passes your loot filter. That keeps the risk as low as we know how. It does not make it zero, and anyone who promises you zero is selling you something that does not exist.

Common questions

Can you get banned for Cheat Engine in Hero Siege?

Yes, online. Panic Art says its system flags Cheat Engine value changes as soon as they happen, and bans for it are usually permanent. Offline single player is the exception.

Is there a Hero Siege trainer that is safe online?

No. Every trainer edits game memory, which is exactly what the detection looks for. Use them offline only.

Is botting allowed in Hero Siege?

No. Automation is against the EULA, like in most online games. A bot does not edit values, so it is a different risk from Cheat Engine, but the studio can still act on accounts that use one. The safety section on our Hero Siege page says the same thing.
