Hero Siege ore mining guide
Every ore from Copper to Tarethium, the mining level each one needs, where it spawns and how to level mining without wasting a season on it.
Mining is the one source of income in Hero Siege that does not care about your gear. A fresh character can mine Copper on day one, and a maxed miner pulls Tarethium out of Hell that sells for serious gold. The only thing standing between the two is mining level.
The short version
- Walk up to a vein, press F, then press F again when the moving marker is inside the green zone. A clean hit breaks the vein and drops 1 to 4 ore.
- There are six ores. Each needs a higher mining level, from Copper at 0 to Tarethium at 1000.
- Each ore only levels you up to a cap. Past it, you have to move to the next ore to keep levelling.
- Highland Mines in Act 4 has more than 20 veins, which makes it one of the best places to level.
How mining works
Ore veins spawn on the ground across most zones. Walk up to one and press F to start the minigame. A marker moves around a circle, and you press F again when it is inside the green section. Hit it and the vein breaks and drops between 1 and 4 ore.
A patch often has several veins close together, so once you find one it is worth checking the area around it. Monsters keep attacking while you mine, so clear the pack first if you can.
Every ore and the level it needs
The numbers below are from the official Hero Siege wiki. "Levels you up to" is the cap: mining that ore stops giving you levels once you reach it.

The pattern is easy to see once it is in a table. Copper and Iron are only there to get you through the first 225 levels. Gold carries you to 500. From Ruby on, the cap is 5000, so everything after that is about which ore is worth the most, not about levelling.
How to level mining fast
Every vein you break gives mining experience based on how much ore it drops, until you hit that ore's cap. So the fastest route is simple: always mine the best ore you are allowed to, and move up as soon as you unlock the next one.
- Level 0 to 125: mine Copper on Normal while you level your character. You will pass most of these veins anyway.
- 125 to 225: switch to Iron. It is on Normal and Nightmare, so you can keep mining while you push difficulty.
- 225 to 500: Gold. This is the long stretch, and the one where a vein-dense zone saves the most time.
- 500 and up: Ruby first, then Jade at 750 and Tarethium at 1000. At this point you are mining for money as much as for levels.
Where you mine matters as much as what you mine. Highland Mines (Act 4, zone 2) is a popular levelling spot because it has more than 20 veins in one dungeon, so you spend your time mining instead of walking between patches.
What to do with the ore
Early in a season, raw ore sells well because everyone is levelling crafting at the same time. Later, the value moves into processed materials like Jadenium Powder and Tarethium Ore, and the raw ore price drops. Mining with a bot
Mining is repetitive in exactly the way that suits automation: find the vein, time the minigame, pick up the ore, move on. MUSA walks to veins it finds on the map, plays the minigame and finishes the whole patch before moving on, even if something attacks it halfway through. Ore and drops come before chasing enemies, and a full bag gets emptied into the town stash between maps.
