Torchlight Infinite SS14 Tartarus: release date and what we know
The preview is on 9 October and the season should follow about a week later. Here is what XD has confirmed, what is still a guess, and how to get ready.
The next Torchlight Infinite season is SS14, Tartarus. XD has confirmed the preview date and one new hero trait. Most of the details arrive with the preview, and we will update this page when they do.

Release date
The official Torchlight Infinite site lists the Tartarus season preview for 9 October at 10 AM PDT. XD usually reveals the season mechanic, new traits and balance changes in that preview.
The launch date itself has not been announced. Torchlight Infinite has settled into a steady rhythm of four seasons a year, in January, April, July and October, and season tracker ARPG Seasons estimates 16 October based on the gaps between past seasons. Treat that as an educated guess until XD confirms it.

Youga's new trait: The Ultimate One
XD's teaser confirms a new trait for Youga called The Ultimate One. How it plays is not public yet. What we do know is that Youga's current traits are already strong: Youga 2, Spacetime Elapse, has been one of the best budget league starters in recent seasons, thanks to damage over time that shreds bosses. A new trait on a hero with that track record is worth watching closely.
What we do not know yet
The season mechanic, the new rewards and the balance changes are all still under wraps until the preview. We will not guess at them here. Recent seasons have each added a headline mechanic to the Netherrealm, like the Funeral Procession in Afterlight, and Afterlight also folded the previous season's Lunaria into the permanent game.
How to get ready now
- Decide on a starter or two. Heroes that clear on no gear, like Selena 2, Erika 1 and Youga 2, have been the safest openers for several seasons. Our SS13 tier list is a good place to start until the new list settles.
- Know what carries over. Heroes, traits, Pactspirits and cosmetics come with you. Your characters and your Flame Elementium stay on the permanent server. The new season checklist covers it in detail.
- Plan your first week. The first days are when seasonal items sell for the most Flame Elementium, so a fast start pays off more than at any other time.
- If you use a bot, plan for patch day. New seasons change the game, and bots need an update to match. Our guide to botting a new season explains how to handle it.
