AFK farming in Torchlight Infinite: auto loot, pets and bots
The game automates looting through Pactspirits and nothing else. What auto loot picks up, how to switch it on, and what it takes to farm while you are away.
Torchlight Infinite automates exactly one part of farming: picking things up. Your Pactspirit can loot for you, and with the right one it grabs most of what matters. Everything else, from walking the map to killing the boss, is still on you, unless something else is doing it.
The short version
- Auto loot works through a Pactspirit pet. Set it to Follow and turn on pick-up in its settings.
- Free pets get standard auto loot. Advanced auto loot, which picks up Flame Sand, embers and more, comes with premium pets.
- There is no auto-battle or auto-pathing in the game.
- True AFK farming means a bot, and bots are against the rules.
How auto loot works
Auto loot comes from Pactspirits, the pets you unlock and take into maps. To turn it on:
- Unlock a Pactspirit and set it as your pet.
- Set its behaviour to Follow.
- Open the Pactspirit's settings, go to Pick-up and switch auto pick-up on.
You can also choose which categories it collects, from basic to advanced, so it does not fill your bag with junk.
Standard and advanced auto loot
What your pet picks up depends on which kind of auto loot it has. The lists below follow the Torchlight Infinite database.

Notice what is missing from the standard list: Flame Sand and most embers, which are some of the most useful things to sell. That gap is the main reason players buy a premium pet. Our currency guide explains what each of these items is worth.
What the game will not do for you
Torchlight Infinite has no auto-battle and no auto-pathing. Some mobile games let you tap a button and watch your character play; this one does not. Opening maps, moving, fighting, dodging and taking the portal are all manual, and so is picking up anything your pet's auto loot does not cover, like good gear drops.
Where bots come in
That gap is exactly what a farming bot fills. A bot like MUSA's opens the map you pick, walks to the boss, fights with your equipped skills, dodges attacks, opens chests and picks up the loot, including Flame Elementium and gear that auto loot misses, then starts the next map. It plays through a virtual controller, so the game can be minimized while it runs.

Getting more out of auto loot
- Set the loot categories so your bag does not fill with things you will only sell to a vendor.
- Check the Commodity tab after every few maps. Auto loot collects a lot of sellable items that are easy to forget.
- If you are deciding whether to buy a premium pet, count how many Flame Sand and embers you walk past in an evening. For most farmers the advanced list pays for itself.
