Botting a new Torchlight Infinite season: a first week plan
New seasons break bots and reset economies. What to do by hand, when to switch the bot on, and how to use the first week when prices are at their highest.
The first week of a Torchlight Infinite season is the most valuable time to farm and the most awkward time to bot. Seasonal items sell for the most Flame Elementium they will ever fetch, but the season patch can change the game in ways any bot has to catch up with. A little planning gets you the best of both.
The short version
- Expect the season patch to need a bot update. Do not plan on the bot working the minute servers open.
- Play the campaign yourself. The bot is built for Netherrealm maps.
- Switch the bot on once your build clears a Timemark comfortably, not before.
- Sell seasonal items early, while they are worth the most.
Patch day
A new season is a big patch: new mechanics, new UI, balance changes, sometimes new maps. Any of those can change something a bot relies on. MUSA updates itself every time it starts, so once it has been updated for the new season, the update reaches you automatically. Check the patch notes in our Discord before you run it.
Until then, play by hand. Running an out-of-date bot on a changed game is how characters get stuck, die repeatedly or behave in ways no person would, and none of that is good for your account.
What to play by hand
The campaign is short, around two hours if you keep moving, and it is where your build comes together. Play it yourself. Our leveling guide covers the fastest route. Unlocking the first Timemarks is also worth doing manually, because that is when you find out whether your build actually works.
When to switch the bot on
Start the bot once your character clears maps at a Timemark comfortably, without dying and without long fights. A bot plays your build as it is. If the build struggles when you play it, it will struggle more on its own.
- Choose a Timemark one step below your limit. A map cleared quickly and safely earns more than a harder one that ends in deaths.
- Check your survival first. MUSA dodges attacks and backs off after a burst of damage, but it cannot fix a build with no defences.
- Use Clear mode only when the build clears fast. Otherwise let it head straight for the boss.
Make the most of the early economy
New season items and materials sell for the most in the first days, before everyone has them. In SS13, Sandalwood Incense went for hundreds of Flame Elementium early on. Keeping the risk down
A new season does not change the rules. Botting is against XD's terms, and bans can be anything from a few days to permanent. These habits matter just as much in week one as in week ten.
- Do not bot on an account you cannot afford to lose.
- Keep sessions to lengths a person could believably play, even though the first week tempts you to run it around the clock.
- Do not run macros or AutoHotkey alongside it.
- Watch the first few maps after an update before you walk away.

Does MUSA work on day one of a new season?

Is botting riskier at the start of a season?
