Torchlight Infinite Thea guide: every trait and which to pick
Thea 3, Blasphemer, is one of the best boss killers for starting a season. How Thea's Blessings work and which trait to pick.
Oracle Thea builds her power from Divine Blessings: Focus, Agility and Tenacity, which she gains on a cycle every two seconds. Each of her three traits spends them differently. Her third, Blasphemer, turns them into Erosion damage and explosions and is one of the four S tier starters going into SS14 Tartarus.
The short version
- All three Thea traits gain a Divine Blessing every 2 seconds, cycling Focus, Agility and Tenacity.
- Thea 1, Wisdom of The Gods, spends Focus on God's Boon for a damage buff.
- Thea 2, Incarnation of The Gods, places a Divine Realm that changes her buffs inside and outside it.
- Thea 3, Blasphemer, Desecrates the strongest nearby enemy and centres on Erosion. It is the one to pick.
Thea's traits
Thea 1: Wisdom of The Gods
Clicking the trait spends all your Focus stacks on God's Boon, which adds damage for 10 seconds at full stacks. The nodes speed up God's Boon, add damage per Focus spent and offer a Prophecy of Revelation option that swaps some talents on your fourth panel for Blessing talents.
Thea 2: Incarnation of The Gods
The trait skill drops a Divine Realm on the nearest enemy, and your Blessings shift between Agility and Tenacity depending on whether you stand inside it. The nodes enlarge the realm and add speed and damage from your stacks. MMOexp's endgame data flagged this trait as the weakest performer in Divine Ascension at the end of SS13.
Thea 3: Blasphemer
Clicking the trait Desecrates the highest rarity enemy near you on a short cooldown. At level 45 nearby enemies can explode on death for True Damage, and the later nodes spread Desecration across elites, stack it up to 25 times and make enemies take more Erosion damage. It is built for Erosion damage and explosions.
Trait mechanics are summarised from the Torchlight Infinite database. Numbers change between seasons, so check the database or the in-game hero screen for current values.
Which Thea trait to pick
Pick Thea 3. Blasphemer was an S tier starter in SS13, kills bosses quickly and works on modest gear. It is less dominant in the endgame once other builds have their gear, so many players start on Thea 3 and roll a scaling build later. Avoid Thea 2 if you plan to push the hardest content.
The rankings come from our Torchlight Infinite tier list, which is based on how traits finished SS13 Afterlight. Our classes guide compares Thea with every other hero.
Tips for playing Thea
- Keep the Desecration on the target that matters. On bosses it is easy; in maps, aim it at elites.
- Stack Erosion damage and anything that makes enemies take more of it, since Extreme Desecration multiplies both.
- Some guides build Thea 3 around controlling enemies, such as IGGM's SS13 "mind control" setup. Check that any build guide was written for the current season.
For how traits fit together with skills, talents and gear, see the builds guide.
Thea for farming
Thea 3 is at her best on bosses and elites. For wide map clearing she is slower than Selena 2, so she suits boss focused farming better than full clears. MUSA's Torchlight Infinite bot reads your equipped skills from the game, so it fights with whatever Thea build you have set up. Automation breaks the game's rules, and our bot safety guide explains the risk.
