How co-op works
Torchlight Infinite launched without co-op. It was added in 2024 with the Whispering Mist season, and it is limited to two players, so you can bring one friend into your game. The Steam page lists online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer among its features.
Most of the game is still built around playing on your own. Seasons, the Netherrealm and the endgame bosses are all tuned for a solo character, and co-op is there for playing with a friend rather than as the main way to play.
Crossplay between PC and mobile
PC and mobile share the same servers, so a friend on a phone can join you on PC. The Steam version asks you to bind a third-party account for exactly this reason, since the game runs on the same cross-platform servers as the mobile version.

Is Torchlight Infinite on PS5 or Xbox?
No. As of September 2026 the game is only on PC and mobile. XD has said it wants to bring the game to more platforms in the future, but it has not announced a console version or a date. If you see a "Torchlight" game on PlayStation or Xbox, it is one of the older Torchlight titles, not Infinite.

Playing solo
If you prefer to play alone, nothing is locked behind co-op. Every season mechanic, the Netherrealm and the bosses can be done solo, and most players do exactly that. That is also how MUSA's Torchlight Infinite bot runs: one character, one PC, farming maps on its own.
