Erika 1 is the fastest early currency farmer in the game. How all three Erika traits work and which one to play.

Cateye Erika is the speed hero of Torchlight Infinite. All three of her traits reward moving, and her first, Wind Stalker, was the fastest early currency farmer of SS13. Erika 1 is one of the four safest starters for SS14 Tartarus, and her third trait, Vendetta's Sting, shows up in the endgame rankings as well.

The short version

  • Erika 1, Wind Stalker, gets stronger the more you move and keeps your Multistrike count going.
  • Erika 2, Lightning Shadow, builds Electrify while moving and numbs nearby enemies.
  • Erika 3, Vendetta's Sting, is a fast melee assassin built around Vendetta and critical strikes.
  • Erika 1 is S tier as a starter. Erika 1 and Erika 3 are both A tier in the endgame.

Erika's traits

Erika 1: Wind Stalker

Wind Stalker gives a large movement speed bonus and a Stalker stack for every metre you move, and while Stalker is active your Multistrike count is not interrupted. The level 45 nodes either turn movement speed into attack damage or support your main skill with Multistrike directly, and the later nodes raise your Stalker cap and Multistrike damage.

Erika 2: Lightning Shadow

Moving or clicking the trait builds up to three Electrify stacks, and while you have them your Feline Figure hits nearby enemies and numbs them. The tree is about Numbed: more stacks, longer duration and a stronger effect, with the level 75 nodes adding speed and damage for every Numbed stack on enemies around you.

Erika 3: Vendetta's Sting

Casting Vendetta grants Incisive and lets your Skill Area bonuses apply to Vendetta, and skills it triggers deal more attack damage. The nodes lean towards dual wielding, critical strikes and killing elites, including one that removes Vendetta's cooldown while you are Hastened. It plays as a close range melee assassin.

Trait mechanics are summarised from the Torchlight Infinite database. Numbers change between seasons, so check the database or the in-game hero screen for current values.

Which Erika trait to pick

For a first character, pick Erika 1. It farmed currency faster than anything else early in SS13, it runs on cheap gear, and the playstyle is simple: keep moving and keep attacking. Erika 3 is the trait to roll later if you want a melee build with a high ceiling. Erika 2 is the least played of the three right now.

The rankings come from our Torchlight Infinite tier list, which is based on how traits finished SS13 Afterlight. Our classes guide compares Erika with every other hero.

Tips for playing Erika

  • Movement speed is damage with Wind Stalker. Boots and any source of movement speed pull double duty.
  • Do not stand still to fight bosses. Kite in circles so your Stalker stacks stay up.
  • Erika 1 farms best in fast, open maps. The FE farming guide lists the planes that pay best.

For how traits fit together with skills, talents and gear, see the builds guide.

Erika for farming

Erika 1 suits farming because she is fast between packs as well as in fights, and map speed is what decides FE per hour. Our best heroes for farming compares her with Selena 2. MUSA's Torchlight Infinite bot reads your equipped skills from the game, so it fights with whatever Erika build you have set up. Automation breaks the game's rules, and our bot safety guide explains the risk.
