Torchlight Infinite Timemark 8 and Profound guide
The top of the Netherrealm. What it takes to unlock Timemark 8 and Profound, the damage you need, what the bosses drop and whether it pays more than Timemark 7.
Timemark 8 is where Torchlight Infinite's best farming happens, and Profound Timemark 8 sits above it as the hardest difficulty in the Netherrealm. Getting there means beating the Traveler and having far more damage than Timemark 7 needs. Once a build can clear Timemark 8 quickly, it pays noticeably better than anything below it.

Unlocking Timemark 8 and Profound
You reach the top of the Netherrealm by working through the planes and Timemarks, as our Netherrealm guide explains. From Timemark 7 up, the gate changes: according to the Torchlight Infinite database, in Timemark 7, Timemark 8 and Profound Timemark 8 you have to defeat the Traveler to unlock the next Timemark. Beating the Traveler as Realm Lord also opens the Spacetime Turbulence mode. Unlocking Profound difficulty is also listed as a milestone in the game's Journey.

Profound Plane Watchers
You challenge a Plane Watcher once you have collected enough Starshards from clearing Netherrealm stages. At Profound Timemark 8, the Plane Watcher has six difficulty levels, and you unlock each by beating the one before. Higher difficulties drop more, and the top one drops Conquest Insignias, which you exchange for outfits. Plane Watchers at Timemark 7, 8 and Profound 8 also drop the materials that unlock Traveler challenges.
Farming Timemark 8
A July 2026 test averaged about 700 FE an hour over 101 Timemark 8 Thunder Wastes maps without compasses or pets, against about 250 an hour for slower Timemark 8 setups. That site also sells Flame Elementium, so take the exact figures with some salt. The pattern matches what most guides say: fast clears at Timemark 8 beat slow clears anywhere.
- Build map buffs at Timemark 7 and switch to Timemark 8 for the last map or two of a run if your build is not quite ready.
- Clear speed decides income. A one minute Timemark 8 map beats a three minute Profound one.

Is Profound worth it?
For bragging rights and outfits, yes. For income, only once your build clears it as fast as Timemark 8. Profound rewards more per task, but a character that crawls through it earns less per hour than one flying through Timemark 8. Most players get more from pushing their Timemark 8 clear speed than from moving up.
Farming the top end with a bot
At this level most playtime is the same map loop repeated hundreds of times.
